President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attended on Saturday, June 20, 2026, the graduation ceremony of the third training course for imams of the Ministry of Awqaf, dubbed the “Imam Hassan Al-Attar Class,” at the Egyptian Military Academy.
The ceremony was held at the newly inaugurated “Al-Safwa Hall” at the Strategic Command Headquarters in the New Capital.
Presidential Spokesman Mohammed el-Shennawy said that President Sisi was received upon arrival by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production Ashraf Salem Zaher, Chief of Staff Ahmed Khalifa, Minister of Awqaf Osama Azhari, and a number of ministers.
The Spokesman noted that the President began his participation in the event by unveiling a commemorative plaque marking the inauguration of Al-Safwa Hall, where he received a detailed briefing from Walid Aref, head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority.
The ceremony featured a recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by an address by Mohamed Salah el-Turki, Director of the Egyptian Military Academy. A presentation on the training program for the third Awqaf imams’ course was also delivered, along with documentary films highlighting the graduates’ research projects and academic achievements.
Activities included a poetry recital by the senior trainee, the announcement of graduation results and a religious chant performed by child vocalist Mohamed el-Qalagy.
In his speech, Awqaf Minister Osama Azhari underscored the ministry’s commitment to preparing a new generation of imams who are academically, physically, and nationally qualified, praising the President’s continued support for building a balanced and enlightened national character.
During the ceremony, President Sisi invited the top ten graduates to the stage to congratulate them personally. He also directed the relevant authorities to explore opportunities for their continued academic qualification through postgraduate studies, including the possibility of educational missions abroad.
