Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi arrived in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, to participate in the first Arab-Chinese summit.

At King Khalid International Airport, the President was received by Prince Muhammad bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region; Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit; Saudi Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Osama bin Ahmed Nuqali; and Ambassador of the Republic of Egypt to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farouk Tawfiq.

Official Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said that the president's participation in Arab-Chinese summit comes within the framework of Egypt's keenness to strengthen and develop the distinguished historic relations between the Arab countries and China, as well as boosting joint action mechanisms to achieve common interests.

He also noted that the summit aims to build on the extended political dialogue between the two sides, as well as consultation and coordination on ways to maximize prospects for mutual cooperation at the economic and development levels, in addition to discussing efforts to maintain regional and international security and stability.
