President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has safely arrived in Equatorial Guinea to participate in the 7th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union.
President El-Sisi is taking part in this high-level meeting, which typically includes a select group of African leaders, according to official Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy.
His participation comes in light of Egypt's current chairmanship of the North Africa Regional Mechanism and its presidency of the Heads of State and Government Orientation Committee of the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD).
During the summit, Sisi is expected to present Egypt’s ongoing efforts to enhance the functioning of these two key mechanisms, aiming to strengthen peace and security across the continent and to align them with Africa’s development and stability goals.
The spokesperson also noted that President Sisi is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with several African leaders on the sidelines of the summit, adding that These discussions will focus on addressing the continent’s pressing challenges and advancing regional stability to fulfill the aspirations of African nations for prosperity and sustainable development.
