Sisi, Arab Parl't Speaker Discuss Strengthening Arab Co-op

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received, on Thursday, Mohammed Al-Yamahi, Arab Parliament Speaker, in the presence of Dr. Hanafy El-Gebaly, Parliament Speaker.

At the outset of the meeting, President Sisi expressed his appreciation and respect for the efforts of the Arab Parliament as a vital platform for dialogue on enhancing the interests of Arab peoples.

Sisi also praised the dedicated work of the Parliament’s members in strengthening ties among Arab states in service of the goals of joint Arab action.

Moreover, he reaffirmed Egypt’s full support for the Arab Parliament’s mission, especially in light of the exceptional circumstances currently facing the Arab world, stressing the importance of unifying efforts to safeguard the interests and resources of the Arab nation.

For his part, Arab Parliament Speaker expressed his honor in meeting President Sisi and voiced his eagerness to enhance cooperation with Egypt in support of common Arab causes.

He also commended Egypt’s leading role, under its leadership and people, in preserving Arab national security.

He particularly highlighted Egypt’s efforts to resume the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, to secure the release of hostages and detainees, and to ensure the delivery of adequate humanitarian aid to the sector.

Arab Parliament Speaker further expressed his aspiration to benefit from Egypt’s pioneering parliamentary experience and to intensify joint cooperation programs with Egypt.

He emphasized the importance of leveraging modern technologies and tools to improve the performance of the Arab Parliament, which serves as a key Arab mechanism for engaging with the public and taking effective positions to protect the interests of Arab states.
