Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi arrived at the new headquarters of Senghor University ahead of its official inauguration ceremony, which he is scheduled to attend alongside French President Emmanuel Macron.
Senghor University is considered one of the leading institutions dedicated to training African professionals and developing human capital across the continent. The university welcomes students from French-speaking African countries, including Egypt, as well as students from Haiti and, on some occasions, countries outside Africa.
Over the years, the institution has also hosted students from Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cambodia, France, Lebanon, Romania, Ukraine, and Vietnam, reflecting its international academic reach.
The university’s educational programmes are supervised by four department heads working to maintain academic quality standards and strengthen the institution’s international openness. They are supported by a specialized academic council and a network of around 150 external professors and international experts.
According to university officials, half of the teaching network consists of university academics, while the other half includes internationally recognized experts across various professional fields.
