President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received John Ardell, Vice President of Exploration at ExxonMobil, on Tuesday. The meeting was also attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi, Peter Clark, Vice President of Liquefied Natural Gas, Amr Abu Eita, Chairman and Managing Director of ExxonMobil Egypt, Diaa Soheil, President of ExxonMobil Egypt Upstream Limited for Exploration and Production, and Youssef Hafez, a member of the Board of Directors of ExxonMobil Egypt.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency, stated that the meeting was held as part of President El-Sisi's commitment to monitoring ongoing exploration activities in Egyptian land and waters. He began the meeting by welcoming the company officials and their participation in the Egypt Energy Exhibition and Conference (EGYPS 2026), emphasizing his appreciation for the company's efforts as one of Egypt's strategic partners in the energy sector.
President Sisi affirmed Egypt’s keenness to strengthen and develop relations with ExxonMobil and all companies operating in and interested in the Egyptian market, reviewing the state’s efforts to enhance Egypt’s international and regional position in the energy sector by strengthening partnerships and developing government policies with the aim of creating a favorable business environment for national and foreign investments.
