CAIRO, Dec. 23 (SEE) - President Abdal Fattah El Sisi met with members of the Judicial Authorities' Council (JAC) which is consisted of the Justice Minister, president of the Court of Cassation, president of the Council of State, president of the Court of Appeal of Cairo, the attorney-general, the head of the State Prosecution, president of the Administrative Prosecution Authority, as well as the First Assistant to the Minister of Justice, Head of the General Secretariat of the Council.
Sisi stressed the importance of JAC's contribution to boosting the
Egyptian judicial system and to meeting justice's aspirations in the light of current
challenges and changes.
Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Radi said in a press statement on Sunday that the president affirmed the big role the JAC should play.
"President Sisi expressed his keenness to listen himself to the
JAC's members' opinions," Radi added. "Sisi stressed his full respect
to the law and the independence of judiciary."
On their parts, the judicial heads expressed their appreciation for meeting
with the president for the first time since 2008, stressing their keenness to
preserve the credibility enjoyed by the Egyptian judiciary to contribute to the
social stability of the country.
