Sirens Wail in Vicinity of Israeli Dimona Nuclear Reactor

The Israeli army (IDF) announced that sirens wailed over Wednesday-Thursday night in the vicinity of the Dimona nuclear reactor in Negev Desert in the southern part of Israel.

"KANN" Radio network and Reuters news agency quoted a spokesperson for IDF as saying that sirens howled at Abu Qurynat area in the Negev near Dimona and investigation into the event is still ongoing.

Reuters' correspondent assured that the echo of an explosion was heard at a distance of 90 km of Abu Qurynat minutes ahead of a text message sent by the Israeli army.

The Syrian rocket passed all Israeli air defense capabilities before it landed in the Negev.

On the other hand, Yedioth Ahronoth, a daily Israeli Hebrew spoken newspaper, indicated that there is an unconventional event near the nuclear reactor.

In general, sirens wail to warn of rocket attacks.

Residents of Jerusalem said that they heard a strong explosion in the city.

A Syrian rocket fell in the Negev but the Israeli army said that the nuclear reactor has not been hit as the rocket of the SA model did not fall near the nuclear reactor.

The Israeli army announced that it launched an attack on Syrian ground-air rocket batteries inside Syrian response to the rocket attack in the Negev.

On the other hand, Israeli media revealed yesterday, that a strong explosion shakes an Israeli factory that produces rockets.

Iran celebrated at the news of the explosion and implied that a strike for strike.

Roy Sharon, military commentator at the KANN channel said that there are big question marks about the explosion that took place in the Tomer factory because military censorship intervened and issued a gag order on the explosion.

Sharon added that smoke billows of such a volume couldn't have resulted from an experimental explosion in the factory.

Haaretz, an Israeli daily newspaper, assured that the explosion occurred when experts of Tomer company conducted an experiment to produce a rocket to carry a satellite.
