Egypt's Ministry of Health issued on Monday an urgent directive to concerned authorities to treat Egyptian singer, Ali Hemeida, at the state's expense, after his health deteriorated.
According to an official statement, Khaled Mujahid, advisor to the minister of health and population for media affairs and the official spokesperson of the ministry, announced that Hemeida is being transferred to the Nasser Institute Hospital by ambulance.
"His case will be examined by a medical team consisting of consultants from various specialties to start necessary treatment," the statement added.

On Sunday, Hemeida opened up, during a phone-in with TV presenter Amr Adib on his “Al-Hekaya” program broadcast on "MBC Masr", about his inability to receive treatment due to his poor financial conditions.
The "Lolaki" singer revealed that he suffers from a gallstone that led to a blockage, and the occurrence of health complications in the colon. He noted that his condition is dangerous and cannot afford to finance his treatment, adding that he was currently at Matrouh General Hospital.

In the 80s, Hemeida achieved great fame in Egypt and the Arab world with "Lolaki", composed by Hamid El Shari.
He then disappeared for a long time until he reappeared between 2000 and 2009, and presented the theme song of TV series "Nessma wa Naseeb".
