Singapore has pledged two million Singapore dollars (equivalent to $1.47 million) as part of a general donation towards humanitarian aid for civilians in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Singapore's Channel News Asia reported today, Saturday, that the financial contribution represents the first installment from a local non-profit foundation.
The foundation initiated a donation campaign in October with the aim of providing humanitarian relief to Palestinian territories.
The foundation has announced that it has collected over 4.6 million Singapore dollars, and the campaign will continue until November 17.
Additionally, a second batch of humanitarian goods worth 100,000 Singapore dollars, provided by the Singapore Red Cross Society to the Egyptian Red Crescent Society, has been announced.
These supplies, including medical aid, food items, drinking water, and sanitary materials, will enter Gaza through the Rafah border crossing.
