German multinational conglomerate "Siemens" announced that it does not intend to lay off jobs, despite the repercussions of the corona pandemic crisis on its business.

The company's CEO Joe Kaeser said in statements to the German newspaper "Passauer Neue Presse", on Saturday, that he ruled out job cuts and that the company will put more employees into the part-time work system, which is supported by the state, and which has already moved about 1,600 employees of the company's  total of 120 thousand employees to work irregularly.

"No one will leave the Siemens company due to temporary fluctuations in employment," he added.

"The situation is different now than it was when the company was forced to adapt its business to structural changes, such as the shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy in power plant technology," Kaiser pointed out.

“But in a temporary crisis, there’s no question: we will get through it together. And when the crisis is over, and things are picking up again, we’ll tackle it together,” he noted.
