Shoukry, Sri Lanka FM Hold Talks in Riyadh

Egypt's Foreign Minister (FM) met today with Ali Sabry, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum currently being held in Riyadh.

During the meeting, Shoukry praised the remarkable momentum witnessed in recent years in the level of joint communication and the activation of bilateral cooperation mechanisms.

He also welcomed the resumption of the political consultations mechanism between the foreign ministries of the two countries.

Moreover, It was affirmed, during the meeting, the common desire to continue strengthening the frameworks of bilateral cooperation in light of the excellent historical relations that bind Egypt and Sri Lanka.

Firthermore, Shoukry stressed Egypt's interest in strengthening investment and trade relations between the two countries, welcoming the interest of Sri Lankan companies in investing in Egypt in light of the positive developments witnessed by the investment climate in Egypt over the past years, and the promising investment opportunities that Egypt can offer to Sri Lankan investors.
