Shoukry Says Sudan War Must Stop

Foreign Minister (FM) Sameh Shoukry revealed the details of his visit to Chad; In order to discuss the bilateral relations between Egypt and Chad and ways to develop them. He also discussed the Sudanese crisis with Chadian President Idriss Deby.

In televised remarks, FM said that President Sisi’s message to his Chadian counterpart came about the developments in the situation in Sudan, to contain the crisis and reach a peaceful solution. 

Moreover, Shoukry added that preserving Sudanese institutions is important for achieving stability in the region, noting that Sisi's message stressed the importance of coordination between neighboring countries to cease fire permanently.

In addition, Egypt's top diplomat stressed that any negative effects on neighboring countries must be prevented in order to maintain security and stability for Sudan.

Furthermore, Shoukry stressed the need for Sudan not to slide into a phase of conflict and instability, affirming that The war must stop to prevent any negative effects on the Sudanese people.
