On Thursday, the Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry received a telephone call from his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, during which, they discussed areas of bilateral cooperation and tackled the most important issues of common concern, especially the situation in Libya.

During the talks, the two top diplomats affirmed their solidarity and mutual support between Egypt and Saudi Arabia in facing all threats to their security and stability.

The two ministers stressed that the serious challenges facing the Arab region already require further coordination between the two brotherly countries, especially in the face of threats resulting from foreign interference in the affairs of a number of Arab countries.

They also pointed out to the importance of reaching a comprehensive settlement to the crisis in Libya in order to maintain its unity and territorial integrity and pave the way for the return of security and stability in the North African country.

The two ministers voiced their complete rejection of all foreign interference that contributes to the deployment of armed militias, stressing the need to firmly address the transfer of foreign fighters to Libya.

Shoukry and Prince Faisal expressed their support for the political settlement efforts based on the Cairo Declaration and within the framework of the resolutions of the Berlin Conference.

The talks also dealt with reviewing the two countries' positions regarding the recent developments in the regional scene, especially with regard to the Palestinian cause and the situations in Yemen and Syria, where the two ministers agreed to continue consultation in a way that contributes to achieving security and stability in the region.
