Egypt's Shoukry Receives His Chinese Counterpart Wang Yi

Foreign Minister Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry received his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in the new government headquarters at New Alamein city, today.

During the meeting, Egypt's Foreign Minister welcomed Wang, noting the level of the distinct friendly relations between Egypt and the Republic of China, according to the Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafiz.

Expressing his satisfaction over the cordiality of relations between China and Egypt and close coordination at international platforms, Shoukry emphasized the significance of translating political goodwill into effective and substantive bilateral cooperation.

Also, he underlined that enhanced interactions at a leadership level, greater people-to-people contacts, and increased commercial engagements would help reinforce this process.

On his part, Wang underscored Egypt’s importance as a gateway to the African and Middle East markets.
