Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said that the position taken by Ireland regarding the situation in Gaza is courageous, noble, and consistent with the principles of justice and fairness.
Shoukry added during a press conference with his Irish counterpart, in Cairo, that he discussed with his Irish counterpart the developments in Gaza and the necessity of a ceasefire, the entry of aid into the Strip, and reaching a permanent solution to break the cycles of violence and conflict.
He revealed the visit of the Irish Foreign Minister to Al-Arish and Rafah to inspect bringing aid into Gaza, adding: “The Rafah crossing is operating continuously and we are continuing our efforts through United Nations organizations and contacting Israel to provide the largest amount of aid to the Strip to meet its needs."
The Minister of Foreign Affairs called on Israel not to take any military measures in the Palestinian Rafah.
