Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will meet Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Bin Jassim Al Thani on Tuesday to discuss boosting bilateral relations between Egypt and Qatar.

Bin Jassim arrived in Cairo Monday, where he will pay a working visit on Tuesday, to hold consultations with Shoukry.

Shoukry and Bin Jassim will initially have a meeting at 1:00 pm (Cairo local time) and will then hold consultations in an extended format with the participation of official delegations from the two sides and media.

During the consultations, bilateral relations between Egypt and Qatar will be reviewed, and also specific ways to further strengthen them will be examined.

Furthermore, the two diplomates are expected to discuss the latest developments in the region, in light of the ceasefire reached in Israel and the Gaza strip, as a result of the Egyptian mediation effort, as well as the wider efforts and prospects for permanent de-escalation, according to Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
