Shoukry Praises Bilateral Relations between Egypt, Visegrad countries

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry praised the bilateral relations between Egypt and the four countries of Visegrad (Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland).

Shoukry pointed out that the relations are based on joint action, interests, mutual respect and the historical relations  between Egypt and these countries, "We seek to strengthen and develop them and explore new opportunities for cooperation".

During the press conference held in the Hungarian capital Budapest, which is hosting the Visegrad Summit, Shoukry thanked the Visegrad members for providing the opportunity to hold this meeting.

The FM pointed out that this summit supports the bonds of relations between Egypt and the members of the group to continue the political dialogue on regional and international situations of common interest and to formulate a common vision regarding the challenges facing our countries.

The FM said that the Visegrad countries are of great importance to Egypt, "we seek to continue fruitful cooperation and understanding with the Visegrad countries, especially regarding the situation in Egypt.

He added, "We discussed various issues in the sessions, such as the issue of illegal immigration and the efforts made by Egypt to reduce this phenomenon because of its impact not only on the receiving countries, but also on the citizens of the countries exporting this immigration due to their exposure to difficulties and risks."
