On Wednesday, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held talks with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi who is currently visiting Cairo.
The meeting tackled means of boosting bilateral relations as well as a number of other issues of mutual concern.
Shoukry praised the extended relations between Egypt and Pakistan, especially as they take stances in support of Arab issues and other issues related to the Egyptian state, noting that Egypt has cooperated with Pakistan on many issues to support development efforts.
"We seek to restore fields of cooperation through successive rounds of bilateral cooperation and exchange of visits at the summit level, in order to restore the special relations that bind the two countries and expand cooperation in a way that serves development interests and consensus between both countries on political issues on the regional and international arenas," Shoukry said.
On the new administrative capital, the Pakistani foreign minister said "Cairo, which I see today, is the opposite of what it was 10 years ago", indicating that Cairo has witnessed a major change more effectively at all levels.
"The New Administrative Capital is worth a visit once it is completed," he said.
"Pakistan is witnessing many developments in infrastructure and we welcome Egyptian investment... there are tax exemptions to attract Egyptian investments and other benefits, and there are opportunities available in Pakistan," he concluded.
