Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met Mohamed Salem Ould Marzouk, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad. This came on the sidelines of their participation in the Arab-Chinese summit in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
Ahmed Abu Zaid, the Official Spokesman and Director of the Public Diplomacy Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Mauritanian minister started the meeting by congratulating Shoukry on the occasion of the success of the COP27 climate conference, which reflected Egypt's high ability to organize.
The Mauritanian minister affirmed his thanks to Egypt for the support it provides to Mauritanian students studying in Egypt. He noted the historical enlightening role played by the Egyptian Cultural Center in Nouakchott, which was the first cultural center to be established in the Mauritanian capital.
Ambassador Abu Zeid added that Minister Shoukry stressed the depth of Egyptian-Mauritanian relations throughout history and the continuity of Egyptian support for Mauritania, and Egypt's aspiration to push forward the frameworks of bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries in all fields and to promote the common interests of the two brotherly countries and peoples.
