Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry met his counterpart, Dahir Zul-Kamal, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Comoros on the sidelines of his participation in the 42nd session of the Executive Council of the African Union in Addis Ababa.
Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the foreign minister congratulated his counterpart on the Comoros assumption of the chairmanship of the African Union for a year, expressing Egypt's confidence in the chairmanship of the Comoros of the African Union specially at this stage in which the continent faces many political, economic and security challenges.
Shoukry also affirmed Egypt's support for the chairmanship of the Comoros of the Union, expressing the aspiration for coordination and joint action towards strengthening collective African action under the umbrella of the African Union.
Ambassador Abu Zeid added that the meeting also focused on all the files of bilateral relations between Egypt and the Comoros.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed that Shoukry affirmed Egypt's interest in strengthening cooperation with the Comoros in the economic, trade, investment and technical fields, expressing the aspiration to enhance the role of Egyptian companies in contributing to the implementation of the "Emerging Comoros Plan 2030" projects.
