On Thursday, Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held in-depth discussions with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, on future collaboration and common concerns during their meeting in New York on the margins of the UN General Assembly.
The areas of cooperation identified by both officials include supporting the trade sector and resolving the recent issues in the middle east, according to Egypt's Foreign Affairs Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafez.
This meeting came just a few days after his arrival in New York to participate in the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly Meetings (UNGA).
Earlier on Thursday, Shoukry held several closed meetings with a number of foreign officials and top diplomats on the sidelines of UNGA.
