Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and US Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry inaugurated today, Monday, the US-Egypt Climate Working Group.

Shoukry said that it was agreed to establish this group during the strategic dialogue round between Egypt and the United States last year.. He welcomed the US envoy during his second visit to Cairo since he assumed the duties of his current position.
Earlier, Shoukry stressed that climate change represents a global crisis with unprecedented repercussions, underlining the importance of multilateral environmental diplomacy to confront climate change.
This came during FM’s participation, on Saturday, in a session on environmental diplomacy and climate change, as part of the activities of the Munich Security Conference.
