Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry arrived in Moscow along with a ministerial delegation, on Monday, to discuss ways to solve the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.
Besides Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the foreign ministers of Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and Sudan — members of the Arab Contact Group on Ukraine — are participating in the peace talks.
Last month, Shoukry received a phone call from his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba and addressed the latest developments and the course of negotiations
The Egyptian minister stressed the importance of working towards bloodshed and achieving a peaceful solution to the conflict, highlighting Egypt’s interest in exerting all efforts to achieve this.
