Shoukry Holds Talks with US Counterpart

 According to Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesperson and Director of Public Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry conducted a phone call today, 21st August, with U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. The discussion revolved around the latest developments in bilateral relations, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson highlighted that both ministers emphasized the importance of enhancing the strategic partnership between the two countries. This includes advancing various frameworks of developmental, economic, and military cooperation. They also deliberated on current situations in the regional and international arenas, particularly in Sudan, Libya, Niger, and the outcomes of the Arab Contact Committee meeting regarding Syria, along with recent developments in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Furthermore, Ambassador Abu Zeid clarified that both the Egyptian and U.S. foreign ministers stressed their commitment to continued coordination and consultation in the forthcoming period to monitor the progress of cooperation between the two nations. They are united in their approach to addressing the escalating challenges in the region.
