Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry commented on the possibility that Addis Ababa would not comply with the UN Security Council resolutions if the session demanded by Egypt and Sudan was held.
Shoukry said in a statement to "ON E" channel: "If Ethiopia fails to comply with the UN Security Council resolutions, it will be an evidence of the lack of political will on the part of Ethiopia, which reveals the Ethiopian position and policies, and therefore the international community must deal with that intransigence."
He added: "In this case, both Egypt and Sudan will have exhausted all diplomatic means in the political frameworks, starting from the tripartite negotiations, others under the auspices of the U.S., the African Union (AU), and negotiations of the UN framework."

He continued, "If Ethiopia rejects all of this, the international community will have exposed the Ethiopian intransigence and the lack of political will to resolve the situation, and in return the flexibility of the Egyptian and Sudanese sides."
He pointed out that "once both Egypt and Sudan submit a request to hold the security session, it is sufficient to hold the session, and it is not a condition that the meeting be convened by a member of the Security Council."
On the possibility of his visit to New York during the coming period, Shoukry said: "It could be expected soon, according to the deliberations and the ongoing contacts, and the date that will be set for the session that will be held in the Security Council."
