Shoukry Discusses Preparations for Quartet Meeting for Israeli-Palestinian Peace

On Wednesday, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held a telephone conversation with his Israeli counterpart Gabi Ashkenazi, in preparation for the Quartet meeting that includes Egypt, Jordan, France and Germany in the coming days.

The meeting aims to advance Israeli-Palestinian peace efforts during the next phase, in coordination with the US and all concerned parties.

Shoukry held another phone talks with Riyad al-Maliki, the Palestinian Foreign Minister in this regard, in the context of the Egyptian efforts seeking to reach a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian cause.

In a statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that coordination is taking place at the level of the two Israeli and Palestinian foreign ministers within the framework of the necessary preparation for the Quartet meeting.
