Shoukry Delivers Message from Sisi to President of Niger

On Wednesday, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry delivered a message from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Niger's President Mohamed Bazoum, in which he congratulated him on winning the election.

Ahmed Hafez, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the meeting proved Egypt's keenness to consult with brotherly Niger in light of the close and significant relations both countries share.

Moreover, Hafez affirmed that Shoukry reviewed what happened in the recent Kinshasa meetings, underlining the strong and political will that Egypt showed back then.

Thus, the minister hoped it would stimulate a serious negotiation process that could lead to a binding legal agreement on the filling.

The Ministry's spokesman also revealed that the meeting dealt with bilateral relations, as the minister hailed the extended relations between the two countries, asserting Egypt's aspiration to strengthen these relations in various fields.

This visit comes as a part of an African tour, during which, the minister is set to brief leaders of African countries on recent updates on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) file.
