Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry had a call this morning with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, as they stressed the importance of ending the Israeli attack on the Gaza strip.

In their phone conversation, Shoukry and Lavrov called for immediate ceasefire in order to save lives of civilians amid escalation of violence in Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The two ministers affirmed that political action is “essential”, urging the international community to make a serious move quickly and propose a real, fair and satisfactory solution in the Palestinian cause.

Moreover, they agreed to intensify communication with each other as well as the other parties concerned to end this growing conflict.

In the same vein, a Security Council will convene tomorrow, Friday, for the third time in a week, on this issue in light of its responsibility in this regard in maintaining international peace and stability.
