On Friday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry asserted Egypt's support for Tunisia's prosperity and security.

His statements came during a meeting with his new Tunisian Counterpart Nabil Ammar. The meeting was on the sidelines of the preparations before the kick-off African Union Summit, tomorrow, in Addis Ababa.

Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zied, the spokesperson of the Ministery of Foreign Affairs, said that Shoukry congratulated Ammar on the new position.

After that, he asserted the importance of continuing the mutual ties between the brotherly countries, in addition to the bilateral coordination between Egypt and Tunisia in common-interest issues.

On his side, Ammar underscored the deep ties between Egypt and Tunisia and mutual appreciation.

During the meeting, both officials examined the latest developments in Libya, asserting the necessity of supporting the democratic path for the Parliament, the Supreme Court, and their efforts in organizing presidential elections.

In addition, the Tunisian minister underscored that Libya's security is vital for Egypt and Tunisia's national security.

Therefore, both countries support the Libya-Libyan solution, and the organizing of the elections, and the departure of all foreign forces and fighters from Libya.
