Shooting Reported Outside US Consulate in Toronto

A shooting outside the US Consulate in downtown Toronto early on Monday prompted a police investigation, although no injuries were reported, according to Canadian authorities.

Police said officers responded after hearing gunfire and found evidence that at least one shot had been fired outside the consulate building on University Avenue. Investigators also reported seeing a white sedan leaving the scene.

The area surrounding the consulate was cordoned off as police launched an investigation into the incident.

The shooting marks the second attack targeting the US Consulate this year, following another shooting at the building on 10 March. It also comes after three separate shootings targeting synagogues in the Toronto area.
