A fatal shooting took place in Austria on Sunday morning, leaving one man dead and a woman injured before the suspected gunman turned the weapon on himself, according to Austrian police reports.
The incident occurred in the town of Traiskirchen, located about 32 kilometers (20 miles) south of the capital, Vienna. Local media suggest that a dispute between the three individuals involved may have preceded the violence.
Authorities confirmed that the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle before committing suicide. The injured woman was taken to a hospital in Vienna for treatment. Her condition has not yet been disclosed.
Police spokesperson Johann Baumschlager, speaking to the Austrian Press Agency (APA), stated that the Lower Austria State Criminal Investigation Office has launched a formal investigation into the case. However, further details have not yet been made public.
