Shifa Hospital in Gaza is experiencing a miserable state due to the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
In a post on X (previously known as Twitter), Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the director-general of the WHO, stated that his colleagues had managed to contact healthcare workers at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.
The hospital has been without electricity or water since Saturday after a missile struck nearby, shutting down the medical facility's backup generator, as confirmed by a doctor working there.
The already critical circumstances have been exacerbated by the constant gunfire and bombings in the area, leading to a significant increase in patient fatalities. Unfortunately, the hospital is no longer functioning as a hospital.
