Egyptian superstar Sherine Abdel-Wahab went public for the first time about the difficulties she experienced during her recent crisis.

On an appearance with the Big Time podcast, she disclosed she lost her voice during that period due to great sadness and noted that the public’s great love and support restored her voice.

"I tried to sing but my voice was lost, and I was afraid to try. I was afraid. It was a difficult period, but people’s love brought me together. When I went to a concert after a period of absence, my voice came back in rehearsal," she added.

Sherine continued: "At the Carthage Festival, they placed 4 chairs on the stage because I couldn't stand for more than 10 minutes. My legs felt wobbly. Suddenly, I fainted and it was a strange thing. My voice was lost, but it came back during rehearsal,".

"During the rehearsal, my voice came out. I went home and prayed and asked the girls to read Surat Al-Baqarah for me, because it was too long for me, and I wanted to thank God that I heard my voice again,".

In the past few days, Sherine Abdel Wahab topped the trend after her interview with Cairo 24, during which she revealed many secrets in her life.

Born on October 8, 1980, Sherine Sayed Mohamed Abdel-Wahab, known simply as Sherine, is an Egyptian singer and actress.

She was first discovered as a child by her music teacher at school, who convinced her mother to take her to the Cairo Opera House to meet veteran musician Selim Sahab.

The acclaimed singer auditioned in front of him, who liked her voice a lot. She had served as a choral member at the Cairo Opera House from the age of nine to twelve and then was given a chance to become a solo singer.

Sherine kept performing at the Cairo Opera House while looking for a music producer to launch her professional career.

Abdel-Wahab, 18, was introduced to director and music producer Nasr Mahrous, who liked her talented voice and decided to collaborate with her via “Free Music” production company, where she met with superstar, Tamer Hosny, who was also a new talent-seeking an opportunity. Her first recorded song was released in 2002 as a part of an album that included works of other artists.

The album was released under the title “Free Mix3: Tamer and Sherine” and was a big hit all across the entire Middle East and North Africa. The album sold more than 20 million copies across the whole MENA.

It was a big hit, particularly because of her single “Ah ya Leil”, which boosted her fame.
