Egyptian actor Mohamed Ramadan has unveiled some details about his new TV series "Mosa", which he is set to participate in Ramadan 2021 drama marathon.
“Filming will start at the end of October or in November at the latest, as the production will require a lot of effort to come out the right way,” Ramadan told et bil arabi.
He added that the series stars a large number of celebrities, most notably is Shereen Reda and Bassem Samra.
The collaboration between Ramadan and Samra comes as a surprise for they had their share of differences.
It is written by Nasser Abdel Rahman, directed by Mohamed Salama, and produced by Tamer Morsi.
Ramadan also talked about his role in the series, saying: “he is a person who has some positive and negative traits; he is not an angel or a demon”.

In June, the Egyptian actor announced that he will participate in the drama marathon with TV series “Al-Embrator” (The Emperor), a biography series revolving around veteran legendary actor Ahmed Zaki.
However, Ramadan announced a month later that the series has been postponed until negotiating with Zaki’s heirs, and announced his participation with TV series “Mosa”.
The series was set to be written by screenwriter Bashir El Deek and produced by Synergy production company.
Zaki’s family declared their rejection in many press and televised remarks over Ramadan portraying the late actor in the series, out of respect for the actor’s wish.
15 years ago, the actor had portrayed Zaki. He starred in a secondary role portraying “Zaki” in the 2006 TV series “Cinderella”, which revolved around the life and career of Egypt’s late legendary actress Souad Hosny.
Previously, in an interview with prominent anchor, Amr Adib had mentioned that the series director Samir Seif, who passed away in 2019, initially refused to audition Ramadan for the role of Zaki when he saw him among other candidates in the waiting room of a film agency.
Ramadan insisted to demonstrate his skills and immediately grabbed Seif’s attention when he did.
Ever since Cinderella, Ramadan began receiving bigger roles and his career eventually skyrocketed in the past few years and is now considered one of the top sought after and the highest-paid actors of Egypt’s cinema industry.

Ramadan’s latest artistic role is TV series “Al Prince” (The Prince), which is one of the most watch TV series during the holy month of Ramadan.
It also stars Rogena, Eman El Assy, Nour, Naglaa Badr, Donia Abd Elaziz, Ahmed Zaher, Edward, Abdel Rahman Abu Zahra, Safa Toukhi, and others.
TV series “Al Prince” is the second cooperation between Ramadan and Sami; they cooperated for the first time in the 2016 TV series “Al Ostoura”, which achieved great success during premiere time.
It is written and directed by Sami, and produced by Synergy Production Company.
It is worth mentioning that Ramadan, born on May 23, 1988, began acting while at school. He received the award for greatest nationwide talent three times consecutively – an unprecedented achievement.
He started his career with small roles in TV series like “The Cindrella” until he had his big break in Yousry Nasrallah’s “Ehky Ya Sharazad” (Tell me, Shahrazad).
The actor then went on to star in blockbusters produced by the famous Egyptian producers Mohamed and Ahmed El Sobky, which made him one of the most valuable actors in the middle east.
He is perhaps the only Egyptian actor to have been praised by the internationally renowned actor Omar El-Sherif who stated that he had chosen him to perpetuate his acting legacy.
Ramadan won the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMAs) award in Nigeria. He won the award under the category of “African Fans’ Favourite” category on November 24, 2019.
The list is comprised of the 10 Regional Categories and 26 Continental Categories.
Many Egyptian artists were also nominated for other categories such as Amr Diab, Tamer Hosny, Sherine, Hamada Helal, Cairokee band, and others.
Ramadan, who began exploring rap in the past years and releasing music videos for his singles, recently released another collaboration titled “Ya Habibi”, featuring Congolese singer Gims.
