The testimony of Yaqoub before the Supreme State Security Court sparked widespread controversy after he denied his connection to extremist ideas, or the Salafi takfiri ideology, as the defendants involved in the case said and confirmed that they were influenced by his ideologies.
The prosecution assigned the defendants in the case to assume the leadership of a terrorist group whose purpose is to call for disturbing public order, endangering the safety of society, and preventing state institutions and public authorities from carrying out their work and harming national unity.
The emergency state security court decided to postpone the trial of 12 defendants in the case to the next August; to view the medical report on the health status of Hassan.
