Sheikh Dr. Ekrima Sabri, Head of the Supreme Islamic Council in Jerusalem and preacher of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, warned of the escalating violations perpetrated by extremist organizations against the Al-Aqsa Mosque. He considered the ongoing events a “dangerous escalation targeting the sanctity of places of worship and blatantly violating freedom of worship.”

Sheikh Sabri stated that “the display of flags on the walls of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and attempts to impose a new reality within it constitute an unacceptable and condemned act of aggression, falling within a systematic Judaization plan.” He added that “these violations would not have occurred without the cover and direct support of the current government, some of whose members include some of the most egregious instigators of religious hatred and calls for the demolition of Al-Aqsa.”

Sheikh Sabri also condemned the repeated attacks targeting churches and Christian clergy, emphasizing that “the targeting of both Islamic and Christian holy sites reveals the true nature of these extremist groups, which respect no religious sanctity.”

He added, “These organizations that attack Al-Aqsa Mosque, other mosques, and churches are extremist organizations that could not commit such acts without the official support and political incitement they receive.”

Sheikh Sabri called on the Palestinian people and the Muslim world to “travel to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, to fill it with gatherings of remembrance, knowledge, and worship, and to remain steadfast and pray there, especially in light of the attempts to empty it and prevent worshippers from accessing it.” He emphasized that “the revitalization of Al-Aqsa is the most important way to protect it and preserve its Islamic identity.”

He said, “Al-Aqsa Mosque will remain purely Islamic, and all attempts to impose a new reality on it are doomed to failure in the face of the steadfastness and resilience of those who defend it.”
