The Egyptian House of Representatives will host the meetings of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean (PA-UfM) in Sharm El-Sheikh from September 11 to 14, 2025. Parliamentary delegations from member states are expected to attend.
The sessions will be held at Cleopatra Resort and will cover cooperation between parliaments and dialogue across the Mediterranean. The program also includes cultural and heritage events highlighting Egypt’s tourism and civilizational diversity.
Egypt’s Speaker of Parliament, Counselor Dr. Hanafi Gebali, will deliver a welcome address. Mohamed Abou El-Enein, Deputy Speaker of the Egyptian Parliament and President of the PA-UfM, will also address the opening in the presence of delegation heads.
Delegates will take part in a field visit to Saint Catherine’s Monastery, one of Egypt’s best-known religious and historical sites. Side activities include a boat trip along the Sharm El-Sheikh coast to encourage networking and closer ties among parliamentarians.
Hosting the event underscores Egypt’s commitment to parliamentary diplomacy and to strengthening Euro-Mediterranean partnerships.
