Sharm El Sheikh International Airport received on Thursday the first Air Cairo flight from Uzbekistan.

The trip carried 160 tourists. Supposedly, Air Cairo will operate a weekly Uzbekistan-Sharm El Sheikh trip until the end of this winter season.

Air Cairo CEO Hussein Sharif expressed that the upcoming plan includes operating 4 weekly trips between Sharm El Sheikh, Cairo, and Tashkent starting from April 2021.

Also, it includes a weekly Sharm El Sheikh-Samarkand starting from December 2020.

Sharif explained that the Ministry of Civil Aviation Mohamed Manar asserted the importance of setting new touristic markets for Egypt in Central-Asia and Africa in order to attract more perse tourists to visit Egypt.

In addition, it may help in increasing the number of trips to and from the Egyptian airports and make use of the strategic location of the airports, which helps developing revenues for the flag carrier.
