Arab official Amjad Shammout said the Arab United Organization for Scientific Research is extending its hand to governments, institutions and major companies across the region, stressing the role of applied scientific research in building a brighter Arab future.
Shammout, head of the Arab Observatory for Human Rights at the Arab Parliament, welcomed his selection as chairman of the organization’s board of directors, describing the responsibility as a collective mission that cannot succeed through individual effort alone.
He expressed confidence in the new board and the organization’s governing bodies, noting that he succeeds a prominent Arab leader who supported the organization in its early stages. Shammout said the organization’s strong identity and clear vision attracted him, particularly its focus on investing in promising Arab minds and addressing regional challenges through research and innovation.
He added that the organization aims to position itself as a leading international scientific body, calling on public and private institutions to cooperate across its five sectors: food industries, pharmaceuticals, tourism, education and energy.
