Shafey… Egyptian Artist to Hold Pastel Exhibition in Zamalek

Egypt has always been producing distinguished group of fine artists throughout history such as Mahmoud Said, Bikar, Bahjoury, Heba Enayet and Abdel-Al.

Their works have been displayed in world exhibitions; they have a global presence.

The new generation of fine artists continues to prove his strong presence; they include artist Hala Shafey, who recently acquired membership in the British Bastille Society. Shafey, is a distinguished artist locally and internationally for being a fan of pastel painting.

Shafey will hold an exhibition in the Nile Art Gallery in Zamalek and will continue until March 22.

In this exhibition, she will display more than forty varied works, representing her latest artistic production.

Her exhibition coincides with her recent membership in the British Bastille Society, where she was selected last month after receiving the association’s annual exhibition award three times.

She is the only artist who has been selected as the Society’s member outside of Britain; this ancient society was established 121 years ago.

She is not a traditional artist, as she holds degrees in economics and worked for many years at the United Nations and the World Bank; she also participated in many development projects in Egypt.

Also, she has the determination to offer initiatives to discover young Egyptian talents through cooperation with Egyptian institutions. She strives to support the participation of distinguished Egyptian artists in foreign exhibitions and to emphasize the effective Egyptian presence in international art event.
