Shadid El-Khotoura: Everything We Know

The release date for the much-anticipated TV series "Shadid El-Khotoura" (Extremely Dangerous) has finally been unveiled.

"WATCH IT” digital platform has announced on Sunday that the series is set to be premiered July 1st, which witnesses Egypt’s comeback to short TV series in a decade and marks the platform's first original production series.

The series consists of 7 action-packed episodes and will broadcast on "WATCH IT”.

Shadid El-Khotoura stars Ahmed Elawady, Reem Moustafa, Ryad El Khouly, Nahed Roshdy, and others.

The series directed by Hossam Ali, written by Mohamed Sayed Bashir, and is produced by Synergy production company.

The plot revolves around a young engineer working in the field of combating cybercrime, who faces many dangerous situations while pursuing a highly-trained criminal gang.

Shadid El Khotoura presents a different kind of series

Shadid El-Khotoura is set to be presented in more than one season with its events similar to 2005’s movie “Mr & Mrs Smith” co-starring Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

The stars underwent preparations and exercises for the action scenes, which is a new kind of Egyptian drama.

Mr & Mrs Smith revolves around John (played by Brad Pitt) and Jane Smith ( played by Angelina Jolie), a couple in a stagnating marriage, live a deceptively mundane existence. However, each has been hiding a secret from the other: they are assassins working for adversarial agencies. When they are both assigned to kill the same target, Benjamin Danz (Adam Brody), the truth comes to the surface. Finally free from their cover stories, they discover that they have been assigned to kill each other, sparking a series of explosive attacks.

The platform had presented last Ramadan, 13 series, and pranks show to its viewers to encourage viewers to stay at home and adhere to social distancing to stem the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

The novel coronavirus was first reported in Wuhan, China, and has infected more than one million people and killed over 234,139 worldwide. It also hit several celebrities and top political figures around the world.

On March 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared coronavirus a global pandemic as the new virus has rapidly spread to more than 800,000 people from Asia to the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.

Transmission of viruses between humans happens when someone comes into contact with an infected person’s secretions, such as droplets in a cough.

Coronavirus can also be transmitted by coming into contact with something an infected person has touched and then touching your mouth, nose, or eyes.

It is known that older people appear to be more vulnerable to the effects of the emerging virus.

The virus caused complete paralysis in all activities and events with large gatherings worldwide due to concerns over the spread of the virus.

People across the globe partake in self-isolation for 14 days as an effective precautionary measure to protect those around them and themselves from contracting COVID-19.

It is worth mentioning that "WATCH IT" caught eyes in 2019, following the domination of Egyptian Media Group, the Ramadan season that the most important drama season in Egypt.

The group dominated the majority of drama production in Ramadan, through its Production Company, Synergy, major television networks, and an advertising agency.

It reinforced its control of drama by launching “WATCH IT”, to screen its drama production online in return for a monthly subscription.

The United Media Services company, headed by Tamer Morsi, the owner of the Egyptian Media Group and Di Media company, announced the signing of a cooperation protocol with the National Media Authority, which provides it the right to stream movies, series, and plays produced by Egyptian TV in return for a monthly subscription.
