During a session moderated by Raya Abirachid, Award-winning actor Rufus Sewell delivered a lot of humble thoughts during his open conversation with fans yesterday at Cairo Industry Days. He expressed his love for Egypt as his first topic. "I always wanted to come to Egypt," he highlighted.
Next, he revealed that he had the time to tour some famous sites in Cairo. In addition, he described CIFF as an "extraordinary event."
Then the actor talked about his role in "The Father" film. Sewell exlained: "I've always dreamt of this kind of useful character." He also narrated that he liked to work with Florian Zeller.
Sewell revealed that he had to be careful with the script, lines, and atmosphere because "The Father" script is based on Zeller's play.
He added that Anthony Hopkins is always one of his favorite actors since he was young. Next, he recalled the first casting interview he had and how he was nervous.
Remembering different moments of his career, he gave very touching words about how he was grateful for all opportunities he got, and how he was lucky for having those great memories especially his "The Man in the High Castle."
Next, he commented on his villain characters. The star touched upon the role of the character and to which degree this character is a useful one.
Moreover, Sewell indicated that it doesn't matter if the work he participates in is for TV or theater.
Regarding the atmosphere backstage, the actor described that he likes to have a lovely time in the locations. He asserted that he give a lot of care to the people he works with.
Then, he mentioned his favorite roles such as "The Illusionist," "The Man in the High Castle," and "The Father."
Finally, the star touched upon the role of social media and how it affects the rising artists and stressing them. Sewell also explained that currently the borders between different media devices dissolved due to the rise of social media and online platforms.
