According to a statement from the national emergency management system’s search and rescue sector, reported by Oman News Agency, several incidents were recorded amid intense weather conditions.
In one incident, two people were swept away after their vehicle became trapped in a valley stream in Wadi Al Maawil. Rescue teams later confirmed both had died.
In a separate incident in Barka, floodwaters carried away a vehicle transporting 10 people. Emergency teams rescued seven individuals, while two were found dead. Efforts are ongoing to locate one missing person.
