On Wednesday, several people were injured in a mass knife attack in the Hoofddorp, the main town in the Haarlemmermeer, the Netherlands.
A police officer was among the injured.
Reports highlighted that at least one person is a serious condition.
Police said in a statement that they received a report of a knife attack on Fanny Blankers-Koenlaan at around 6 a.m.
The statement added: "There are several victims, including a colleague. Multiple ambulances are at the scene."
Footage from the scene showed a police cordon marking off an area on a street in the city.
Local media reported that the injured officer was taken to hospital, in a police car "stained with blood".
It was not immediately clear what caused the incident, and police are currently investigating.
