Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has suggested he could resign before the end of his second term, despite his mandate officially running until 2027.
Speaking during a visit to China, Vucic said he “may resign soon,” according to Serbian media reports, while insisting he would not reduce presidential powers as his predecessor Boris Tadic once did.
Vucic also announced that the ruling Serbian Progressive Party plans to hold large public rallies in late June, saying the political messages delivered at the events would matter more than crowd size.
The remarks come amid ongoing political tensions and protests in Serbia, fueling speculation over the country’s political future.
