Serbia and Sweden on Saturday urged their nationals to leave Iran without delay amid escalating regional tensions and US threats of possible military action against Tehran.

In a statement published on its website and social media platforms, Serbia’s Foreign Ministry said that due to rising tensions and the risk of a deterioration in the security situation, all Serbian citizens currently in Iran are strongly advised to depart as soon as possible.

In Stockholm, Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard issued a firm appeal via the social media platform X, urging Swedish nationals presently in Iran to leave the country and advising against all travel there.

Serbia had previously issued a similar advisory in mid-January, calling on its citizens to leave Iran and refrain from travel to the country.

The travel warnings come as Iran announced Friday that it intends to prepare a draft agreement on its nuclear program to present to the United States within two to three days. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has warned of potential military action if negotiations fail.

Following a round of talks earlier this week and amid continued US military deployments in the region, Trump on Thursday gave Iran a 15-day deadline to reach what he described as a meaningful deal or face serious consequences.

The coordinated advisories from Serbia and Sweden underscore growing international concern over the rapidly evolving security environment in Iran, as diplomatic efforts unfold alongside heightened military posturing.
