Dr. Ramesh Sepehrrad, scholar and author, stated today that the total separation between the aspirations of the Iranian people and the goals of the repressive regime is the correct political key to understanding current developments and achieving the desired democratic change. She emphasized that only an organized alternative can end Iran’s intractable crises.
In an interview with GB News, Sepehrrad said: "Past international policies of appeasement toward the Velayat-e Faqih regime have failed miserably and did not succeed in changing the regime's behavior or protecting the people. Today, as the regime enters its stage of inevitable collapse following the death of the executioner Khamenei and the crumbling of his rule’s foundations, the role of the Iranian Resistance emerges as the only force capable of leading the transitional phase and establishing stability."
She added: "The historical responsibility for overthrowing the regime rests on the shoulders of the Iranian people and their organized movement, and not through foreign military intervention. While the ongoing external war has destroyed the regime's military machine, true change is being achieved by the heroes in the Resistance Units. They have proven their strength through strategic operations in the heart of Tehran, such as the historic strike on Khamenei’s residence prior to his death, reflecting the deep roots of this network within Iranian society."
Sepehrrad continued: "The Iranian Resistance, led by the PMOI/MEK, was the pioneer in exposing the nuclear program, missile programs, and regional terrorism of the Tehran Mullahs. It is the most influential entity on the ground today for managing the battle to liberate Iran from the grip of the Mullahs' guards."
She explained: "Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the Resistance, has presented the world with a charter for 'Peace and Freedom' through the 10-point plan. This is the fundamental guarantee for establishing a democratic republic that separates religion from state and ensures the rights of nationalities and full gender equality."
Sepehrrad emphasized: "Maryam Rajavi’s announcement regarding the formation of the Provisional Government is a legal and strategic step to transfer sovereignty to the people within six months through free and fair elections. This prevents any political vacuum or attempts to reproduce past dictatorships, whether it be the Shah's dictatorship or the Mullahs' regime."
Sepehrrad concluded: "The international community and global partners must recognize the right of the Iranian people to overthrow this decaying regime and support the Provisional Government. The Resistance Units are the ones who will shape the future of Iran as a peaceful and non-nuclear state, far from the illusions of foreign intervention or gambling on the remnants of the Velayat-e Faqih regime, which has reached its inevitable end."
