Senator Torricelli: The Fall of the Velayat-e Faqih Regime is Inevitable; Maryam Rajavi’s Plan is the Only Guarantee for Iran's Democratic Future

Former U.S. Senator Robert Torricelli stated that Iran is witnessing a decisive historical transformation as ongoing military operations and a popular revolution shatter the pillars of tyranny, confirming that the end of the era of oppression has arrived.

Torricelli said: "The death of the tyrant Ali Khamenei, the executioner who subjected the Iranian people to the most heinous suffering, has driven the final nail into the coffin of the Velayat-e Faqih regime. We are now facing a new strategic reality where the authority of the Mullahs is collapsing under the strikes of the revolutionaries. What we are witnessing on the ground is the birth of a true revolution led by organized democratic forces that refuse to turn back."

He added: "I salute with great pride the courage of the 'Resistance Units,' who represent the spearhead of this historic confrontation. I call upon the remaining elements of the regular army to take a courageous national stance by immediately aligning themselves with the people and the Iranian Resistance, contributing to the overthrow of the remnants of the executioners' regime to ensure a peaceful and smooth transition of power."

Torricelli continued: "Our position, and that of the Iranian people, is clear and unambiguous; we categorically reject any form of dictatorship, whether it be the dictatorship of the Velayat-e Faqih or a return to the inherited monarchical despotism represented by the Shah’s son. The era of subservience to the crown or the turban is over, and the Iranian people demand a secular democratic republic that restores sovereignty to the ballot box."

He further explained: "Mrs. Maryam Rajavi’s announcement of the formation of the Provisional Government, based on her 10-point plan, represents the only strategic roadmap capable of navigating the transitional phase. This plan guarantees the establishment of a state governed by the rule of law, the abolition of the death penalty, the achievement of full equality between women and men, and the building of a non-nuclear Iran that lives in peace with its neighbors and the world."

Torricelli emphasized: "The Iranian Resistance, led by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, has demonstrated exceptional competence and full readiness to manage the country's affairs, supported by a solid popular base, educated professional classes, and an active diaspora. The People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (MEK) and the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) are the only democratic alternative prepared to take the reins and transfer sovereignty to the people."

Torricelli concluded his statement by saying: "The international community, led by the United States, must realize that the era of the Mullahs has effectively ended. Supporting the Provisional Government and recognizing the Iranian people’s right to democratic change is the only path to ending wars in the region and stabilizing the foundations of global peace. The dawn of a free Iran has broken, and no force can obstruct the will of the 'Resistance Units' and the Iranian people in achieving their full freedom."
