Sada Elbald English (See) picks Egypt's three most exciting destinations for this year. Grab your luggage and go!

Well, to cut a long story short, Egypt is fascinating! So, with that in mind, here are some of the very stunning places in Egypt you should visit.

Cairo

Let’s start off with the ancient capital. Like most capital cities, Cairo is a popular tourist attraction. It has two distinct main districts: the New Cairo and the Ancient Khepal and Fatimid Cairo. New Cairo is the perfect place to do some shopping and enjoy the warm weather at the city’s open-air exhibitions and cafes.

For a more historical vibe, the Ancient Cairo city is packed with typical and heritage Egypt's 'souks' (markets) such as Friday Market, Elemam Market, and others. These old-fashioned markets are also cited as a great place to explore, find some amazing bargains and also figure the handmade treasures out.

Oh, make sure to visit historical ElMoez Street that is at once archaeological treasures and marvels of Islamic engineering, and explore some of the ancient Mamluks and Fatimid ruins. It’s stunning.

This walled imperial city was Fatimid’s empire capital in the 17th century when the country was ruled by Sultan Moulay.

Sultan’s ElMoez Mosque is still in place as one of the great attractions in the city today. It’s also a great base for visiting the ruins of Fatimids and Abbasids, a fascinating and partly excavated Islamic/ Arabic city consider the capital of Egypt at that time.

While, the vibe of New Cairo is quite laid back in comparison to Fatimid Cairo and Khepal one, so it’s a good option if you’re looking for a more relaxed Egyptian city break. Many of the city's landmarks, residential compounds, and parks are known around the country.

Visiting Cairo city is actually fasconating; it’s vibrant, colorful, historic, and totally amazing to visit.

Hurghada

Home to the largest barrier reef in the Middle East, Hurghada has many opportunities to get up close and personal with dolphins, eels, rays, and all species of brightly colored fish.

There are hundreds of aquarium fish and atolls that dot the Red sea coastline, filled with colorful coral sunken beneath the turquoise waters.

Some of the best options for pers and snorkelers are found in the Hurgada islands, including the Orange and Giftun Reserve and the self-explanatory alleys teeming with funny dolphins happy to let you live out your swimming-with-the-dolphins fantasies.

Minya

Minya is one of the most notable recognized Cities in Upper Egypt and the capital of Minya Governorate, known famously for its oldest and most Ancient Egyptian sites. Originally called ‘Arous Esaiid’ in ancient Egypt, Minya is often known also as the ‘World's greatest open-air Museum’.

The ruins of the early Al-Ashmūnein (ancient Hermopolis), and Tūnat al-Jabal stand within the modern city on the East Bank and life goes on unchanged for centuries amongst the domestic residents.

Minya City lies between the East and West bank of the River Nile and is crossed daily by locals and tourists alike with Felucca boats and Ferries alike.

Many monuments, tombs, and temples are located on the West Bank which includes the Gabal el Teir (Mountain of Birds), and attracting millions of tourists worldwide arriving annually to partake in this famous pilgrimage in Egyptian ancient civilization.
